Dubai was also the final stop of an album preview tour that saw Kimbra play a run of sold-out exclusive gigs across the US in New York, San Francisco, LA, Chicago, Washington, Seattle, Dallas, Austin, Houston and Atlanta. These shows marked a return to international performing for Kimbra for the first time in two years, since the Covid pandemic shuttered global touring in 2020. “I’m so honoured to be representing my country New Zealand,” the two-time Grammy winner declared eagerly to a seated full house at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre. Under an Arabian night sky, Kimbra commanded the stage at Expo 2020 Dubai twice last week, on Monday and Wednesday evenings, showcasing new material from her upcoming fourth album and proudly flying the flag for New Zealand in the UAE.
